They both are able to record 1080p video and have 3 inch touchscreen display. Full HD is great but you still have to have good optics in your camera, so A85V has a better 12X Optical Zoom and A80V has only 5X Optical Zoom.
There are still some differences in video recording capabilities, they both can record 1080p at 30 fps, but the newer one can record 720p at 60 fps, while A80V can record 1080i at 60 fps. This all sounds so complicated but when you play it at 60 fps the movement is a bit smoother.
As for advanced video recording add-ons the A85V has a Manual Focus System, it is controlled via buttons on the touchscreen. Using this feature will help user can focus the camera on whatever object he wants. It can also do 2 things simultaneously thanks to Dual Capture Mode: it can record video and take pictures simultaneously.
Generally it is a good camera and DXG are getting to the lead of camera makers with it. You can get one for $ 319.99 on DXG site, but they are on sale now on Amazon
