Microsoft’s Comfort Mouse 6000

We’ve seen some mice designed for the Twitter crew and we’ve seen some mice designed for gamers but how often is it that a hardware company (this time it’s Microsoft) comes out with a mouse that’s just plain old productive? The Comfort Mouse 6000 sounds like something you might see on a late night infomercial but it’s really just a solid little peripheral.
It’s just about the right size at 3 inches by 5 incches and is designed for right handed users only (sorry lefties). There are five customizable buttons which you can program for utility. In addition, there’s a detent scroll wheel which Microsoft promises is “effortless” and promotes optimal “accuracy.”

The Comfort Mouse 6000 also sports the company’s BlueTrack technology which “combines the power of optical with the precision of a laser.” This technology is supposed to allow you to easily use the mouse on a variety of surfaces.
Again, Microsoft chose to go the wired route instead of relying on batteries. It’s an interesting trend that I must say I like. I never thought have a mouse that runs on batteries was a good thing—no matter how long the battery life could be extended.
The mouse comes with a 3 year warranty but at $29 it’s easily replaceable if it breaks outside that (and ten dollars a year is not a bad price to pay for a mouse.)
Visit the Microsoft website for all the details.
