ScentScape Scent Device Smells Up The Room While You Watch A Movie, Play A Game
g The human body has up to 5 senses, 3 of which can be used to watch a movie or play a video game. The fine folks of ScentScience are looking to add a 4th, scent, to your video game setup with something called the ScentScape. It’s a desktop sized device that contains scent packets and can produce up to 20 different scents, such as cinnamon, ocean, flowers and so forth. At this point in the game the device’s operation is limited to ScentEditor edited videos that have been embedded with ScentScience user cues or marks that tell the box when to spray one of the many odors.
Currently, ScentScience cartridges are limited to 20 scents and cost $19.99 a pop. However, they plan on producing custom scents for video games and perhaps other media that could be bundled with the product. Developers can buy the SDK kit for $495, while consumers should expect to pay $69.99 for the ScentScape device.
